  BULGARIAN CHAMBER ORCHESTRA - Dobrich

 

   Formed in 1968, the Bulgarian Chamber Orchestra – Dobrich for a very short period of time established itself as one of the brilliant examples of contemporary performing art. Each public appearance is a demonstration of high professionalism and inspirational performance. The great potential of creative energy and noble ambition, the strive for a constant improvement and widening the range of style and music works, give this wonderful ensemble unlimited prospects.

 The rise of this ensemble has been connected with the name of Jordan Dafov – Chief conductor and artistic director of the orchestra with significant mark in its history. Under the baton of Dafov, the Bulgarian Chamber Orchestra - Dobrich registers a lot of the most significant success in their autobiography, both in Bulgaria and on the European bandstands.

   The Bulgarian Chamber Orchestra – Dobrich is welcome guest to all music festivals in Bulgaria, to the summer festivals in Italy, France and Spain. They have toured with invariable success most of the music centers in Europe, and have made recordings with Radio France, and Swedish Radio Orebro, with Radio Sofia, with TV of Moscow and Spain, with the “Balkanton” Record Company.

 

   The concerts in Japan and Korea, where the orchestra played in the most prestigious halls – “Suntory Hall” – Tokyo, “Isumi Hall” – Osaka and “New Concert Hall” – Seul, are significantly impressive. In the orchestra’s repertoire are included the most significant music composers of the preclassics such as Korelli, Vivaldi, Handel, Bach to Britten, Shostakovich, Bartok, Vladigeroff, Goleminov and many contemporary composers.

   The performances of the Bulgarian Chamber Orchestra – Dobrich have received everywhere enthusiastic appraisal of the audience and critics.

   Music Director and conductor of Bulgarian Chamber Orchestra – Dobrich is Dimitar Karaminkov. Permanent guest conductor – Markus Huber – Germany. Concertmaster is Temenujka Konstantinova.
