Iva Lubomirova, born in 1975 in Sofia, Bulgaria, started playing the flute at the age of seven. Her international career started in the same year with a debut recital in Belgrade, Serbia. In the years to follow Iva Lubomirova established herself as one of the most prominent young talents of Bulgarian classical music by winning numerous national and international competitions and awards. Over the years she has participated in master classes with several of the world’s leading flute players including Andras Adorjan, Emmanuel Pahud and Patrick Galoa.

Iva Lubomirova has performed a large number of solo recitals and has been a soloist with various symphonic and chamber orchestras across Europe, North America and Latin America. At the age of twenty she was invited and took the position of Principal Flute at the Symphony Orchestra Monterrey in Mexico. She is a regular participant in international music festivals and in 2008 she appeared together with the prominent Bulgarian Jazz player Theodossi Spassov at the Ochrid Summer Festival in Macedonia in a performance of the Double Vivaldi Concerto for two flutes and orchestra.

Parallel to her concert career she has in recent years established herself as one of the leading flute teachers in Bulgaria. In 2005 she accepted a permanent teaching position at the National Music College L.
