Reviews
“‛As to the conductor Svilen Simeonov, he seemed to have kept all his strength for the end of the concert when showing his great and profound insight into the score of Nelson Mass, he succeeded in uniting the soloists, choir and orchestra, and gave this exciting work the right interpretation.“
Prof. Georgi Spassov, First flute Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra
On behalf of the Konzerthaus Japanese representative and his agency, I would like to thank you Maestro Simeonov personally for your brilliant performance as a conductor as well as for the wonderful concerts of Sofia Sinfonietta under your baton in Japan.
Mag. Peter Buchmann Buchmann GesmbH, Austria,July 2004
Maestro Simeonov, I would like to extend my compliments both to you as a conductor and the Sofia Sinfonietta Orchestra for an excellent level of artistic achievement which was felt by the public who expressed its admiration on all occasions after your concerts.
Christos Tsenes, General Manager, Phormigx Concert Agency, September 2005
Mozart’s Requiem was performed in the second part of the concert with the music being played at one go. The atmosphere, charged with emotion where music and word combined in the unique way of Mozart’s genius, was expressed by the ensemble of the mellow and beautiful voices of the soloists Tsvetelina Maldjanska, Alexandrina Milcheva, Nikolai Mocov and Alexei Ivanov, the powerful yet velvet sound of the Svetoslav Obretenov A Cappela Choir and the partnership of Svilen Simeonov as conductor building up the architectonics of the work in a delicate and precise manner.

Union of Bulgarian Musicians and Dancers,

In the Serenade for String Orchestra Op.48 by P.I. Tchaikovsky, Svilen Simeonov achieved an incredible harmony developing its different parts. The creative expressiveness in the first part and the final contrasted with the richness of the experience especially in the Elegy. We could feel the conductor’s suggestiveness, who managed to instil such emotional efficiency into the strings that made people hold their breath sharing the moment… …Tchaikovsky’s confession, a work of a genius, tugged at the audience’s heartstrings, who expressed its gratitude by a round of applause.
Bozhidar Gatev, Musical Horizons magazine, No 4/2004
Svilen Simeonov succeeded in rendering the musical expression with inherent profundity.Alessandro Solbiatti, who came to hear his composition Sette pezzi, was really delighted with the wonderful performance given by the orchestra and its conductor Svilen Simeonov
